Kayak access to the canal

I'm vaguely aware of the tragedy of the public dock behind the museum. Is it really in such bad shape that kayakers have to be blocked from using it, for now? RB is blessed with this beautiful resource which only our neighbors to the north and south can access (aside from private docks). As it is, some of us are scrambling down decayed ancient structures to get to the water. You tried to be too fancy (and with no utilization plan), we just need stairs with a little landing.

Good news, the canal dock has been determined to be safe for use and has been reopened. The city will continue to evaluate long-term solutions to address issues related to settlement of the retaining wall. Your comments will be shared with the Board of Commissioners as well.
