Commissioners are set to vote on a public safety project during the October 17 regular meeting. The purpose of this 5-year project is to install bollards at the bandstand and boardwalk access, making the city safer; the first phase of this project will include the Rehoboth Avenue boardwalk access and bandstand. Due to the large number of crowds during the Bandstand Summer Concert Series and other public events, the installation of bollards and swing arms will secure the bandstand and boardwalk areas to prevent vehicles - intentionally or unintentionally - from driving into pedestrians and onto sidewalks or the boardwalk. Find more details about this project in the presentation and FAQs on the side panel.
