Both mats seem to have benefits. Moving forward, the city plans to utilize both mat types at its beach access points. Mats are installed for the summer season around mid-May.

The question was: Are you in favor of allowing leashed dogs on the beach or boardwalk during certain limited hours from May 1-September 30? Green in the chart below indicates a "yes" response - dogs should be allowed during certain limited hours during the summer season. Yellow indicates a "no" response - the rules should be left as they are. Purple indicates "other." Here are the results:
