Project Overview

Traffic, safety, congestion, and parking are perennial hot topics in Rehoboth Beach. The city has contracted with Rossi Group to conduct a comprehensive traffic and transportation study and offer realistic goals and actions to improve the traffic/parking experience in Rehoboth Beach.

At the conclusion of the study, Rossi will present potential improvement options that may include:

  • citywide speed reductions and traffic-calming measures
  • traffic capacity and flow enhancements
  • improvements at strategic intersections
  • improvements to bicycle and pedestrian facilities
  • recommendations to better address parking demand

    King Charles Pilot Program Survey

    The City of Rehoboth Beach has implemented temporary traffic-calming and pedestrian-safety measures on King Charles Avenue for the 2024 summer season: New crosswalks and pedestrian relief islands at Stockley Street and additional crosswalks and bump outs at New Castle Street. The purpose of this survey is to evaluate the effectiveness of these temporary projects and help city officials determine whether these or other traffic-calming and pedestrian-safety measures should be constructed in these locations and/or elsewhere within the city.
